The KFC Cup is a List A domestic cricket competition held in West Indies governed by the West Indies Cricket Board.This one day tournament's format is Group Stages followed by Knock Out Rounds.The tournament have been known by various names in the past.


Banks Trophy in the 1973 season

Gillette Cup in the 1976 season

Geddes Grant/Harrison Line Trophy in the 1977 season

Geddes Grant Shield from 1988 to 1993

Shell/Sandals Trophy from 1994 to 1995 season

Red Stripe Bowl in the 1996 season

Regional One Day Tournament in the 2004 season

KFC Cup from 2005 season

The first official limited overs tournament was played in the year 1970 which was then followed by a trial knock out tournament named Banks Trophy in the year 1973.Then after a another gap of three years the tournament renamed as Gillette cup was introduced in the year 1976 after which the tournament became a regular affair and have been played every year.

Each Team plays each other once after which four top teams are selected for the semifinals.The top placed team plays against the 4th placed team while the second placed team plays against the 3rd placed team.The winners of the semifinal round then progress to the finals.Both Guyana team and Trinidad and Tobago team have been successful in the tournament,both the teams have won 7 titles each.The Jamaican team are the current(2007/08) winners of the KFC tournament.
