The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a first class domestic cricket competition held in Pakistan and is named after the founder of Pakistan,Mohammad Ali Jinnah.The competition was held in 1953,the purpose of the competition at that time was to find talented players for the Pakistan's test tour to England.

The competition has participants representing the regional areas of Pakistan and various departments in Pakistan like Railways.It was decided in the 1956 season that Karachi and Punjab will be represented by three teams,this was done to ensure that the teams were evenly matched.

The Teams are categorised into two groups each having 11 teams.Each team plays against other teams once within the group,the teams placed at the top of the points table in Group A and Group B play against each other in the finals.The Karachi teams have been very successful having 17 titles to their name.The Sui Northern Gas limited team is the current(2007/08) winners of the tournament.
