The Pentangular Cup is a first class domestic cricket competition held in Pakistan.The tournament was started on 1934 with the same name and as the name suggests it had 5 participants.The participants however increased and by 1970s the number of participants were increased to 10.The tournament was also known as

BCCP Invitation Tournament from 1971 to 1979

PACO Cup from 1980 to 1985

The tournament was started to be referred as Pentangular Cup again from 1990.The current sponsor of the tournament is ABN-Amro.The top three placed teams of the Patron's Trophy and the two finalist of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy qualify for the tournament.

The tournament's participants were earlier representing the various departments of Pakistan.This format was changed in the 2008 season and the tournament became an inter- provincial tournament.The PCB have changed the format so that only regional teams can participate in the tournament.

All the teams played each other in a Round Robin format ,at the end of which the team that is placed at the top of the points table is declared the winner.It has been decided that the winning team would be awarded with 1 million US $ cash prize.For the first time in the domestic cricket of Pakistan ,top 75 Pakistani cricket players are said to participate in the 2008 season tournament.The Sindh cricket team is the current winner of the tournament.
