The Mohammad Nissar Trophy is a first class domestic cricket competition held between the domestic champions of India and Pakistan.Every year the wining team of the Ranji Trophy conducted in India and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy conducted in Pakistan play against each other in a four day cricket competition which is held on the month of September.
This annual cricket competition was jointly started by the BCCI and PCB on 2006.It is important to note that the Mohammad Nissar Trophy is the only cross border domestic tournament held between Pakistan and India.The tournament is usually held in Pakistan or India.The first season of the tournament was conducted in India which had the Uttra Pradesh team of India and Sialkot team of Pakistan as participants.
The tournament has been named after the late legendary cricketer Mohammad Nissar, who is said to be the fastest bowler of his time.He was a member of the Indian national cricket team before the 1947 partition and is said to be the early founder of the PCB.He shifted to Pakistan after partition.Both the 2006 and 2007 season have been won by teams from India. The Mumbai team are the current(2007) winners of the competition.
