The Bangladesh cricket team is the national cricket team that represents Bangladesh in international cricket.They are popularly known as " The Tigers ".They are governed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB).Their Test status was granted on 2000.They played their first test match at Dhaka against India.The match ended as a draw.Bangladesh is the tenth Test cricket playing nation.They played their first international ODI match against Pakistan on 1986 at the Asia Cup.They won the ICC trophy on 1999 and hence became eligible to participate in their first World Cup.They are slowing becoming a strong team and have already defeated top teams like India,Pakistan.Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe at various stages.Their victory over India in the World Cup match held on 2007 made it difficult for India to qualify for the semifinals.Bangladesh is currently in 9th position in ICC ODI ranking and ICC Test ranking.Mohammad Ashraful is the captain of the Bangladesh team.
